Founding Team

Lifelong space enthusiasts, technologists and believers in our boundless human potential, our founders Guillermo and Tony aim to solve long-standing operational challenges that are preventing us from achieving the full potential of the space information economy.

Our goal is to make connecting to the most life-impacting data from space faster, easier and scalable through AI/ML-empowered software. 35 Years of Aerospace and Silicon Valley Startup Innovation drives our approach to world-spanning problems.

The Problem

Today’s way of operate satellite communications and data transport is slow, unreliable, and not economically sustainable.

Satellites collect data, then must wait for hours or even days to fly over a radio ground station to downlink the data back to Earth. This is manually handled by overworked human operators, or with a few companies trying to build expensive bespoke one-off systems to manage it. Much of this information is time sensitive, or requires massive bandwidth.

Time-sensitive data such as Earth Observation Imagery of economic zones, natural disasters, or conflict areas suffer from unreliable planning and delays in transport, which if solved could increase revenue by as much as 50% for key data products. New technologies that utilize optical lasers to communicate might be able to expand our bandwidth by 100x, but require even more coordination to succeed.

Despite being a $60 Billion market, our space-ground infrastructure operates with as much as 50% of it’s capacity underutilized, representing huge waste.

We’ve had over 80 interviews with commercial satellite operators and government agency experts that all experience this gap in how we manage communications and data. Estimates of the cost impact and missed revenue goes into the billions.

Our Solution

We are building a software SaaS platform called Nexus, designed to enable truly scalable Earth-Space data orchestration and connectivity. It combines simulation with AI/ML modeling to create optimal and easily-integrated plans for space enabled companies, satellite operators and ground providers to get data products delivered anywhere in near real-time.

Tests of the system have turned 4 hour delays into under 30 minutes. This represents up to a 50% increase in revenue, and tens of millions saved for many companies.

The system features a three stages of customer integration level, from simple scheduling, all the way to a full integration with customer systems in order to meet needs across the entire industry.

In the future, our capabilities will expand to additional AI/ML driven functionality that enable missions previously impossible. The resulting vision is a unified network that enables real-time data access across Earth and Space that’s as easy as any internet search today.
